First Delivery Of Recaro’s Cl3710 To South America
Recaro Aircraft Seating has, for the first time, received an order from a South American airline for its CL3710 seat. Avianca placed an order for 3,170 units of Recaro’s CL3710 model of aircraft seat. The economy class seat specially developed for long-haul flights will offer Avianca’s passengers an amazing flight experience on the airline’s Airbus A320 family aircraft.
“We are extremely pleased that we have been awarded this contract by Avianca – our first installation of CL3710 seats for a South American airline – and for the opportunity to contribute to a particularly comfortable experience for Avianca’s passengers with our CL3710 model,” said Dr. Mark Hiller, Chief Executive Officer and Shareholder of Recaro Aircraft Seating.
The airline from South America, founded in 1919, will receive approximately 3,200 units of Recaro’s bestselling CL3710 model of aircraft seat, which was specially developed for long-haul flights. Since the first shipment of the model left the factory in 2014, this lightweight seat has really taken off – with approximately 200,000 CL3710 units sold in Recaro Aircraft Seating’s order books.
This lightweight seat weighing in at under 12 kilograms stands for one-of-a-kind quality and is developing into a true classic in the aviation industry. The model’s lightweight, modular design offers aircraft manufacturers and airlines a variety of options and stands out with its flexible and six-way adjustable headrest, a special pen recess, state-of-the-art IFE systems and the greatest possible amount of legroom for passengers.
Avianca is a member of the Star Alliance and currently serves 108 destinations in 28 countries.
“The new CL3710 is a perfect fit for our modern aircraft cabins and will offer our passengers an even higher quality travel experience on our flights. This lightweight seat not only sets new standards when it comes to flexibility and reliability but also with regard to cost-effectiveness and efficiency. We are very much looking forward to working with Recaro,” said Miguel Montoya, Operations and Technical Senior VP, Avianca.
