FEAM Aero, the largest leading provider of aircraft line maintenance services in the United States and its subsidiary, Danish MRO Northern Aerotech (NAT), have announced the acquisition of SR Technics’ aircraft line maintenance business at Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) in Madrid. The MAD opening is scheduled for June 1st, and with this acquisition, NAT will establish its presence in one of the largest European airports as part of its aggressive growth plan. Along with FEAM, the acquisition will open doors to a wide-bodied competence center, supporting line maintenance scheduled activities and AOG recovery on 330/350/380/787/777 with any engine combination.
NAT’s specialization in aircraft line maintenance and AOG support for airlines throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa has led to the use of Madrid as a first step in the Spanish market growth, leading to requests for the addition of Barcelona (BCN) and approval from the local competent authority (AESA) for all airports in Spain. The establishment of the new business entity will allow NAT and FEAM to explore future opportunities with neighboring European countries, where FEAM can provide access to hangar facilities.
Morten Schalls Jørgensen, CEO of Northern Aerotech, expressed his excitement about the acquisition and the prospects for NAT in a new location. “We consider SR Technics a world-class MRO, so to be able to follow their success at the MAD location was very attractive to us,” commented Morten Schalls Jørgensen, CEO of Northern Aerotech. “We look forward to growing the NAT brand at MAD by offering superior line maintenance services to our current and future customer airline partners.”
This acquisition demonstrates the commitment of NAT and FEAM Aero to safety, quality, and people while striving to become leaders in the aircraft line maintenance and support services. The acquisition of SR Technics’ business at Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) will create new job opportunities and enhance the company’s reputation in the aviation industry.
“With FEAM Aero we found the right successor to take over the line maintenance service at our single station at MAD. With the divestment we are focusing our business on the Line Maintenance Service for the Swiss airports ZRH, GVA and BSL”, says Urs Kunzelmann, General Manager SR Technics Line Maintenance.
