Falko Outlines Q1 2022 Portfolio Activity
Falko Regional Aircraft Limited (Falko), a market leading aircraft operating leasing and asset management company focused on the regional aircraft sector has provided a summary of its Q1 2022 market activity.
In Q1 2022, Falko signed agreements relating to the acquisition of 9 regional aircraft and 1 aircraft was delivered during the quarter. Lease agreements or extensions were signed relating to 16 aircraft, including the completion Falko’s first ATR72 freighter conversion. In addition, Falko signed an LOI relating to the sale of 6 aircraft currently on lease.
During the quarter, Falko added 13 turboprop aircraft to its portfolio in a servicing capacity on behalf of a syndicate of banks. It is anticipated that further aircraft will be added under this relationship in the second quarter.
Aircraft acquisitions focused on Embraer regional jets and turboprop aircraft primarily on lease in Europe. Leasing activity was spread across EJet, CRJ and ATR types.
As at 31 March 2022, Falko’s managed portfolio totaled 142 aircraft on lease to 21 customers worldwide.
Commenting on the quarter’s activity, Mark Hughes Falko’s Chief Commercial Officer stated:
“We are delighted to be able to announce transactions relating to 32 aircraft in our portfolio during the quarter which reflects the continuing strength in the regional market. This quarter saw particularly strong demand from North America which accounted for more than half of the transaction volume. We are seeing increased confidence from customers about demand in the remainder of 2022.
I’m also pleased that Falko has entered into a new relationship with a banking syndicate to help manage and service a portfolio of turboprops. The turboprop market is strong just now and these aircraft complement our other marketing activities.”
