The aviation industry is booming. FACC, aiming at the billion mark in terms of sales, is adapting its growth. The number of employees at various national and international locations is growing to more than 4,000. To optimally cope with the challenges of the future, FACC is investing in new competences and is strengthening its operative management.

“In the past five years our enterprise has grown strongly. Both our sales and the number of employees have more than doubled. Since 2014, FACC has been a publicly traded company, and its responsibility as one of the biggest employers in Austria has increased significantly”, said Robert Machtlinger, CEO of FACC, emphasizing the company’s success. Therefore, as a strategically important step, FACC has set up the organizational units Internal Audit, Legal as well as Business Strategy.

Internal Audit
Harald Schömig supports FACC as Vice President Internal Audit. After graduating in business administration he started his career in the auditing and tax consultant firm Schuldes. In 1999, Harald Schömig graduated in Florida as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). Before joining FACC, he worked over 20 years for Koenig & Bauer AG in various managerial functions, among other as head of internal audit. His tasks include the development and introduction of an annual business audit plan, the establishment of internal auditing as well as the evaluation of risk management, controlling and governance processes.

Legal
FACC took Derik Zusann on board as Vice President Legal. After graduating in law and obtaining a Certificate of Business Administration in Madrid and of an LL.M program in Chicago, he worked as a lawyer with international law firms in Germany, Spain, and Malaysia, and as Head of Legal Europe with the OSI Group. Among other duties, Derik Zusann will advise the management and the specialist departments in all legal questions, coordinate group-wide corporate governance and compliance activities, as well as devise and control processes of contract design with customers, suppliers and other partners.

Business Strategy
Since August, Edgar Rainer has held the position of Director Business Strategy. He studied commercial sciences and completed a post-graduate MBA program at the M/O/T Alpen Adria Universität in Klagenfurt, London, and St Gallen. After working in the turnaround and financial management in the automotive industry, he was employed by Rosenbauer International in the position of a CFO and Board Member of the branch establishment in Saudi Arabia. Edgar Rainer’s duties include the performance of market analyses, the reparation of operational business models at home and abroad as well as the support of the Management Board in the evaluation of strategy models with regard to the financial development of the FACC Group.
