EVA, Air New Zealand to Codeshare, Extend Services in Northern Asia, Oceania
TAIPEI, TAIWAN (November 5, 2018) – Star Alliance members EVA Air and Air New Zealand signed a codeshare agreement on November 2, 2018 that goes into effect in mid-December and expands both airlines’ service networks in Northeast Asia and Oceania. Passengers will have codeshare options on EVA-operated flights from Taipei to major destinations in Japan or Seoul, South Korea and on Air New Zealand from Taipei to Auckland and other major cities in New Zealand, in addition to travel from Brisbane to both Auckland and Christchurch. Travelers can book flights and learn more about EVA’s routes and services at www.evaair.com.
The new codeshare will further strengthen Star Alliance’s flight network and give passengers more options to plan both business and leisure itineraries to and from Taiwan and New Zealand.
“With just one easy stop in Taipei, passengers can take advantage of EVA’s flexible schedule to fly onward to Japan or South Korea and vice versa,” said Albert Liao, EVA Executive Vice President of Corporate Planning.
EVA has built a good reputation in the marketplace for its aircraft and customer services.
“This agreement with EVA leverages strengths of both our networks and makes travel easier and more convenient for our passengers,” said Air New Zealand Chief Network Strategy and Alliances Officer Nick Judd.
New Zealand has rich tourism attractions. Visitors can also learn about New Zealand’s Maori culture and history by visiting attractions such as Te Puia in Rotorua. Other cities such as Auckland, known as the City of Sails, and Wellington, New Zealand’s capital, offer boundless cultural, dining and outdoor experiences and attractions.
Star Alliance network currently offers more than 18,800 daily flights to 1,317 airports in 193 countries. Since joining Star Alliance in 2013, EVA has steadily added more passenger benefits and conveniences by working closely with 18 partner airlines, including Air New Zealand, Singapore Airlines, Copa Airlines and Air Canada, to extend routes, increase frequency and give travelers seamless services to every corner of the world.
