euroAtlantic airways – Transportes Aéreos S.A., makes public that its founder, Chairman of the Board and Shareholder Tomaz Metello, has appointed Eugénio Fernandes as new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, with retroactive effect since the 6th of August 2018, succeeding the former CEO Luís Bandeira. Tomaz Metello further informed that the remaining members of the Board of Directors will maintain their current positions.

euroAtlantic’s new CEO Eugénio Fernandes was the former Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), he has an extensive experience in the Commercial Aviation sector; he was formerly Managing Director of Airplus in Mozambique, Deputy of the Financial Director of the Pestana Hotels and Resorts for Mozambique and South Africa, he also held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Enave in Luanda (Grupo José de Mello) and was responsible for the Administrative and Financial area of Alitalia in Portugal, prior to joining euroAtlantic as Commercial Director.

The new euroAtlantic CEO, Eugénio Fernandes holds a degree in Economics from Universidade Católica Portuguesa, and also holds other qualifications such as a postgraduation as a "HIGH BUSINESS DIRECTORATE PROGRAM - PADE" at IESE / AESE Business School in Lisbon and in CEIBS - China Europe International Business School in Shanghai - China, in addition to a "STRATEGIC MARKETING MANAGEMENT" at the University of Chicago - Graduate School of Business, complemented with other academic and professional training.
