30 May, 2019. Domodedovo, Moscow region. Etihad Airways has announced the launch of additional daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Moscow Domodedovo Airport (DME) starting October 27. According to the carrier, the increase in flight frequency comes from the popularity and success of regular Abu Dhabi – DME operations.
Etihad Airways and Moscow Domodedovo Airport have been cooperating since 2008. In this period the route’s annual passenger traffic has doubled. In partnership with Etihad Airways, Moscow Domodedovo Airport has served more than 1 million passengers.
“Etihad’s additional daily service provides more flexible travel options between the two capital cities as our guests can now choose between a daytime and evening departure from both Abu Dhabi and Moscow. The addition of the second flight underscores the importance we place on the Russian market, by providing our customers greater flexibility and convenience to visit the UAE, as well as easy transit through Abu Dhabi to key points across Asia and Australia”, highlighted Etihad Aviation Group Chief Commercial Officer Robin Kamark.
“Abu Dhabi is a unique destination for both Moscow Domodedovo airport and Moscow aviation hub. We are confident that an additional flight will be in strong demand. Moscow Domodedovo Airport attracts passengers thanks to its extensive transfer infrastructure, including our network of domestic destinations allowing travelers from Russian regions to visit foreign countries”, said Moscow Domodedovo CEO Igor Borisov.
An Airbus A320 will carry out additional flights. Passengers will be able to depart from DME at 23:35 and from Abu Dhabi at 14:00*.
