ERA Director General Montserrat Barriga today met with Single European Sky ATM Research Joint Undertaking (SESAR JU) Executive Director Florian Guillermet at the SESAR JU headquarters in Brussels.

The meeting is part of the European Regions Airline Association’s (ERA)* ongoing work to meet regularly with the EU’s key decision makers on behalf of the association’s members to address current and future challenges within the aviation industry and to ensure that its members’ views are represented.

Florian Guillermet, Executive Director, SESAR Joint Undertaking, comments: “Through our long-standing relationship with the ERA and its members, we at SESAR have been able to better understand the challenges facing regional aviation and what we can offer in terms of solutions to support greater connectivity and sustainability between the regions in Europe. We look forward to continuing this strong collaboration with ERA under the direction of Ms Barriga.”

Montserrat Barriga, ERA’s Director General, says: “My discussions with Florian Guillermet today were very productive. ERA is continuously working with SESAR JU to ensure that our airline members have access to airspace infrastructure as and when needed in the most cost-effective manner, and to assist in the development of new procedures and equipment.”

“The meeting demonstrates ERA’s ongoing strategic work and the important role that ERA plays in influencing the work of key decision makers in Europe, including the SESAR entities, the European Commission, EASA, the European Parliament, Eurocontrol and the European Civil Aviation Conference,” Barriga adds.
