Embraer Commercial Aviation has named Ron Baur Senior Vice President, Global Leasing and Strategy. Effective September 15th, Ron will combine his new lessor-focused responsibilities with his current strategy role. Ron will report directly to Arjan Meijer, Chief Commercial Officer, Embraer Commercial Aviation.

Ron is an experienced aviation professional who recently joined Embraer from United Airlines. During Ron’s 27 years at United and Continental, he was responsible for acquiring all new mainline and regional aircraft, managing the acquisition and return of all leased aircraft, and lessor relationships. During his tenure, he acquired, remarketed and sold more than 750 aircraft with lessors around the world.

“Martyn Holmes, our VP Europe, Central Asia & Russia, did an outstanding job in working with lessors globally over the past number of years. However, with Embraer’s growing success in the European and CIS markets – as well as the growing importance of the leasing market – Embraer has decided to bring dedicated resources to each of these areas. With Ron’s extensive airline experience, coupled with the direct lessor transactional experience, the fit for the new mandate is perfectly aligned. Ron’s experience and knowledge will offer the ideal mix to support Embraer’s global engagement with the leasing community,” said Meijer.
