Bogota, January 12, 2018. Avianca Holdings S.A.’s (NYSE: AVH) (BVC: PFAVH) (*) subsidiaries transported 2.597.557 passengers during January of 2018, a 1.4 % decrease compared to the number of passengers mobilized during the same month in 2017. Capacity, measured in ASKs (Available Seat Kilometers) increased by 4.7%; on its part, average passenger traffic measured in RPKs (Revenue Passenger Kilometers) attained an additional 5.0%. The occupancy factor reached 85.5%, a 0.2 percentage point increase compared to the same period on the previous year.

Domestic markets in Colombia, Peru and Ecuador
In January, airlines ascribed to Avianca Holdings transported 1.468.247 passengers within these countries, an 2.9% decline compared to the same month in 2017. Capacity (ASKs) decreased 4.5%, while passenger traffic (RPKs) was reduced by 2.3%. As a result, the occupancy factor for that month reached 84%, an increment of 1.8 percentage points compared to the same month on the previous year.

International Markets
During the first month of 2018, the airlines that comprise Avianca Holdings transported 1.129.310 passengers on international routes, 0.5% more than the number of passengers transported during January 2017. Capacity (ASKs) increased by 7.0%, while passenger traffic (RPKs) attained an additional 6.7% Therefore, occupancy on international routes reached 85.9%, a 0.2 decrease in percentage points compared to December 2016.

It is important to clarify that these results are in the frame of the operational recovery process being implemented by the airline after the illegal cessation of activities by ACDAC pilots which lasted 51 days. Avianca will continue to work to re-establish 100% of its itineraries gradually and expected to be operating at its full capacity in the following months.
