DENVER – April 9, 2018 – Today, Mayor Michael B. Hancock and Denver International Airport (DEN) celebrated Norwegian’s inaugural nonstop flight between Denver and Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG). Prior to today’s flight, Paris was DEN’s largest unserved market in the world and DEN ranked as the largest market in North America without nonstop service to Paris.

"Connecting Denver nonstop with Paris has long been a goal of my administration and our entire metro region," said Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock. "Not only do we expect this new flight to create 350 new jobs and generate more than $40 million in annual economic activity, but Denver can now be considered a global leader in connectivity with nonstop flights to Paris, a world-renowned capital of commerce and culture."

Norwegian’s new service will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays. The flight is scheduled to depart Denver in the early evening, arriving in Paris mid-afternoon the next day. The flight will then depart Paris mid-afternoon and will arrive in Denver mid-afternoon the next day. It will operate using a Boeing 787-9 aircraft with 344 seats.

“Since launching service from Denver to London last September, we’ve seen demand remain strong, so adding more routes from this city was a natural next step,” said Thomas Ramdahl, Norwegian’s Chief Commercial Officer. “Not only are we happy to see our relationship with Denver continue with the addition of our Paris service, but we are also pleased to further our mission to make affordable travel a reality for so many.”

In 2017, nearly 90,000 people traveled between Denver and Paris, which equates to nearly 250 people each day. The demand for travel between Denver and Paris has grown by nearly 75 percent over the past year, even without nonstop service, and we expect this growth to continue due to Norwegian’s nonstop flight.

"The inauguration of nonstop service between Denver and Paris is a tremendous milestone for our airport as Paris is currently is the most visited of our unserved international destinations," said DEN CEO Kim Day. "We couldn’t be happier that Norwegian has chosen to invest in this route, and look forward to working with partners in Denver and Paris to support, promote and grow this new flight."

With the addition of the flight to Paris, DEN now serves 25 international destinations in 10 countries, and more than 190 total nonstop destinations. In addition, DEN now has nonstop service to 14 of our top 15 international markets.
