Braathens Regional Airlines (BRA) looks to take over routes vacated from bankrupt Nextjet, specifically those from Stockholm and Gothenburg.

Malmo-based BRA, which already controls 40% of the Swedish domestic market, is eying the Jonkoping - Bromma and Sundsvall - Gothenburg routes, as its believes it can operate them profitability while providing opportunties for growth.

BRA may utilize its own aircraft, as well as wet lease aircraft for the said routes. The wet lease operator was not disclosed, although it could be Danish Air Transport (DAT), who had an ATR72 contract with Nextjet in summer 2017.

DAT would not confirm a contract with BRA, but it did acknowledge it is quite busy, as its new Italian subsidiary, DAT Italia, is due to begin operations on 01 July 2018 with three aircraft.
