Cyprus Airways has launched the first phase of operations on June 1st with flight CY1011 to Pulkovo International Airport in St. Petersburg.

The airline’s Airbus A319 aircraft was welcomed back to Larnaka International Airport, the next day, with the traditional water salutation.

George Mavrocostas, Chief Operations Officer of Cyprus Airways stated “Today marks a significant milestone for the local aviation sector and the country as a whole. We are extremely happy that Cyprus Airways is flying, and we would like to thank travelers for their great support, as since we announced our launch, we had a very warm and moving response. From our side, we will do our best to offer our passengers relaxing and pleasant flights.”

Maria Kouroupi, Senior Manager Marketing and Communications of Hermes Airports stated “We welcome the launch of flights by Cyprus Airways and the first flight from Saint Petersburg. We look forward to working closely with the airline and we support all efforts for the expansion and development of the connectivity of the country.”

For the second phase of its launch, Cyprus Airways, will announce in the next few months, a revised and extended flight schedule to be implemented in March 2018.
