Cubana de Aviacion is in Vietnam negotiating possible wet leases of several A320 and A321s from VietJet Air, as the Cuban carrier is need of reliable planes following a deadly crash that killed 112 people two months ago.
Cubana recently suspended all flights until September 2018 because it lacks "functional aircraft", leading the airline to look outside the country for aircraft.
In May 2018, a Global Air (Mexico) B737-200, serial 21816, operating on behalf of Cubana de Aviacion, crashed after takeoff from Havana.
