Cubana de Aviacion has reportedly extended the suspension of its domestic flights to at least until September 2018, following a deadly B737-200 crash in May that killed 112 people.

In addition to the suspension, Blue Panorama ended its lease agreement with Cubana de Aviacion this week, after nearly a year and a half in operation, with the return of its last plane, a B737-400, serial 27074, to Italy on 29 May 2018.

The reasoning behind the decision was reportedly constant delays in lease payments.

This follows recent government orders to ground its fleet of six AN158 aircraft due to recurring problems with the aircraft which affected safety.
