Paris, Amstelveen, 21 September 2017 - In August 1957, the Construction et Réparation de Matériel Aéronautique company was born out of the merger of two historic French aviation industry businesses, engine maker Salmson and Avions Voisin, and established its headquarters at Issy-les-Moulineaux on the outskirts of Paris.
Sixty years later, the modest repair shop has become a key player on the global MRO market, reputed for its know-how on high value-added products based on state-of-the-art facilities and expert personnel.
Excellence the guiding principle
Specializing in the regeneration of mechanical components, engine assembly repairs and component maintenance, CRMA became part of the Air France group in 1992, when it moved to a cutting-edge facility at Elancourt, South West of Paris. Over the years, it gained a reputation as a leading supplier of benchmark MRO services for a wide range of international companies, and for its excellence and exacting standards, both in operational terms for the quality and reliability of its services, and in relational terms towards its customers' requirements.

25% additional capacity
Today, and after successfully completing a large number of insourcing projects for new parts and engine assemblies, especially in the field of Very Big Engines (VBE), CRMA is still growing. CRMA recently developed capabilities for GEnx engines, powering the Boeing 787, and is currently industrializing Rolls Royce engine part repairs, including for the A350's Trent XWB powerplant. To keep pace with growth in its business activities and in its clientele, CRMA has launched project Apollo to extend its capacity and climb to ever higher altitudes. After investing some 8 million euros, CRMA will see a 25% boost to its industrial capacity, including 2,500sq.m. of additional surface area and new, ultra-modern equipment. The new capacity is scheduled for delivery in the spring of 2018. Which means that, at almost 61, CRMA will be getting a new lease of life!
