Costa Rica expects four new domestic airlines by end of 2018
Costa Rica expects four airlines to enter the domestic market by the end of 2018.
Costa Rica Green Airways, backed by CarmonAir, plans to begin operations in September 2018, with investment of around US$3 million, according to CEO Everardo Carmona. Fleet to initially consist of one DHC6 and two Islander aircraft, and later another DHC6 will joining the fleet as well as a leased L410.
TAC Airlines Costa Rica, backed by TAC Guatemala, also plans to begin operations this year with one Cessna Grand Caravan and one EMB110.
Additionally, Skyway plans to begin scheduled services in mid-November 2018 out of Juan Santamaria airport utilizing two L410s.
Lastly, Aerobell, a charter operator, is expected to announce its intentions soon.
