Corendon Airlines has announced that one of the new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircrafts, to join the fleet in 2019, will be stationed on the German airport Cologne/Bonn and will operate from there flights to Turkey, Egypt, Grece and Spain.
With its last year in Europe established third airline company, Corendon Airlines Europe, Corendon Airlines has started to operate flights to holiday destinations in Europe. After a successful 2018 season the European operations will be expanded in 2019 with new bases and destinations. During the 2018 season Corendon operated flights from Germany to Turkey, Greece and Egypt. Starting in May 2019 one aircraft will be based on the German airport Cologne/Bonn and from there it will fly to the Spanish Baleares and Canary Islands. In May 2018 Corendon Airlines was the first airline company in Turkey to include the Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft in its fleet. In 2019 two more Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircrafts will be delivered and received from the factory, of which one will be stationed on the German airport Cologne/Bonn to operate during the 2019 summer season 21 flights a week and carry 220.000 passengers.
Mine Aslan, Corendon Airlines Commercial Director, stated that at the selection of new flight destinations from Germany, the requests and experiences of tour operators, cooperating with Corendon for many years, were taken into consideration. According to Aslan tour operators often contribute to find quick, transparant and reliable solutions and said: “Corendon Airlines is well acquainted with the German market and knows the needs and requests of tour operators. Our plans and fly operations are arranged to satisfy our customers. The 2018 season was from operational point of view a difficult year full of problems for aircompanies in Germany, operating flights in Europe. We are having a successful season. Supported by our experience and our image we want to increase our capacity in the coming years by the addition of new bases and flight destinations and thus secure our position in the market.”
From the beginning of 2018 Corendon operates from 12 airports in Germany 60 flights on a weekly basis to Turkey, Egypt and Greece. Increasing new bases and destinations the number of airports will be raised to 16 and the weekly flights will be increased to 85.
