Condor management: Ralf Teckentrup and Christian Schmitt remain strong leaders
The Condor Supervisory Board appointed Ralf Teckentrup as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Condor for another two years. Christian Schmitt will also remain in office as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Accountable Manager. Christoph Debus, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), will leave the company at his own request at the end of February 2022 to take on new challenges. His successor as CFO will be decided later.
Friedrich Andreae, Chairman of the Condor Supervisory Board: "With Ralf Teckentrup and Christian Schmitt, the company continues to have a strong leader for the long-term further development of Condor into the leading European vacation carrier. With a new majority owner, the modernization of the fleet and the expertise and experience of this management team, Condor is well prepared for a successful take-off."
Ralf Teckentrup has already been CEO of Condor since 2004. He will continue to steer the vacation carrier's fortunes as CEO and be responsible for all commercial areas. Christian Schmitt has been Condor's COO since 2017 and, as Accountable Manager, is responsible for Condor's entire operations.
"We very much regret that Christoph Debus will be leaving Condor and would like to expressly thank him on behalf of the Supervisory Board and Condor's workforce. Following the insolvency of Thomas Cook, Christoph Debus was an integral part of restructuring Condor and setting the course for the future. We wish him all the best professionally and privately," Friedrich Andreae continued.
Christoph Debus was CEO of Thomas Cook Group Airlines and stepped in as CFO after Thomas Cook's insolvency because there was a vacancy due to illness. In this way, he drove forward the rapid reorganization of Condor, its refinancing and finding a new owner. Condor has had a new majority owner since July 2021 and ordered 16 Airbus A330neo long-haul aircraft on the same day. Christoph Debus will now devote himself to new challenges outside Condor at his own request.
