Larnaca, Cyprus, March 16th 2018 – Cobalt Air, Cyprus’s largest airline is further bolstering its European route network with the addition of a new twice-weekly service from London’s Gatwick Airport to Athens on Tuesdays and Saturdays, effective Saturday 31st March, 2018. Launch fares are available to book now from £49.00 one way. The new Athens service will be the second London Gatwick route for the carrier, alongside its existing six times a week Gatwick to Larnaca service. Both routes are operated with Airbus A320 aircraft, with a business and economy class cabin.
Andrew Madar, CEO, Cobalt Air commented:
“We are delighted to have this opportunity to widen our footprint in European aviation and commence direct London to Athens services at the end of this month. The travelling public has taken the relatively young Cobalt brand and its ethos to its heart. Our presence in Athens is already strong due to our existing services to Larnaca and Pafos from the Greek capital. We are very excited to bring additional competition and attractive fares to the London to Athens route.”
The London Gatwick to Athens route will feature Cobalt’s newly developed business class product, featuring large bespoke business seats in a two-by-two configuration with a 40” pitch, bringing a high level of comfort on the four-hour journey. Cobalt will become the only airline offering a business class cabin from Gatwick to Athens.
