China Southern’s Sichuan branch has been officially founded
An official announcement on the founding of China Southern Airlines’ Sichuan branch was made on the 26th of September, signifying the company’s grand ambition of serving Southwest China through its new Sichuan base. With constantly improved flight route network, diversified tourism products, and upgraded service brands, China Southern strives towards better addressing passenger demands. The company is also a dedicated follower of China’s One Belt One Road initiative and aspires to contribute more to the development of economy, trade, and tourism businesses in West China.
A New Air Express from Chengdu to Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen
China Southern Airlines set up its Chengdu sales office way back in 1995 , when the company started to run 4 routes from Chengdu to Guangzhou, Zhengzhou, Shenzhen , and Wuhan. By August, 2017, the airline company has been operating 29 routes departing from Chengdu, Mianyang, Nanchong, Guangyuan, Yibin, and other cities in Sichuan .
As the Sichuan branch has been established, China Southern’s development in the region will gradually pace up with investment in transport capacity and resource facilities leveling up and supporting services being subsequently rolled out.
In terms of flight routes, China Southern Airlines plans to build an Air Express connecting Chengdu with Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, and to introduce direct fights between Chengdu and other metropolises and economically advanced cities in China. Also being considered are flights from Chengdu to tourism cities in Sichuan, and then to plateau areas such as Lhasa. Furthermore, the company is exploring possibilities to launch international routes departing from Chengdu.
