China Express Airlines eyes a stake in Qazaq Air

China Express Airlines can take part in the privatization Qazaq Air, according to the press service of the Kazakh airline, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two airlines on the development of strategic cooperation in international and regional passenger transport.

"Within the framework of the MOU we will be able to discuss on the part of China Express Airlines issues of cross-border exchange of passenger traffic and direct financial investment in the development of our company", said chairman of Qazaq Air, Blair Treherne Pollock.

He also expressed confidence that the memorandum will allow the Kazakh air carrier to gain direct access to regional passenger traffic from China.

CEO of China Express, Longjiang Wu, in turn, stressed the importance of the agreements reached to intensify regional Kazakh-Chinese cooperation in the implementation of the initiative "One Belt One Road Initiative."
