CemAir grounded due to safety concerns

South Africa's CemAir was force to stop operations and may lose its air operating certificate (AOC) after allegedly breaking aviation regulations. The carrier has less than one day to convince the South Africa Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA), otherwise it will be permanently grounded.

The carrier is responsible for appointing a "responsible person: flight operations", per SACAA regulations, however it failed to do so in the last 30 days.

An recent audit of the carrier prompted the grounding as the appointment was never made.

The carrier is based in Johannesburg.
