AIX, Hamburg, Germany/Manila, Philippines, 2 April 2019 – The first of 32 A321 NEO aircraft of Cebu Pacific equipped with Recaro SL3510-seats made its maiden flight on February 4th, making the airliner the first in the APAC region to be flying these seats. Over the next two years, Recaro will fit another 31 jetliners of the same model for Cebu Pacific.

With its ergonomic design, the SL3510 allows for more distance and legroom between seat rows, enhancing passenger comfort. Each seat is also equipped with USB slot so that passengers may charge their devices inflight. Weighing approximately 40 percent less than conventional economy class seats models, the SL3510 will – at the same time - allow Cebu Pacific to accommodate more seats on the plane. This additional capacity helps lower the unit cost enabling the airliner to pass on the benefits through lower fares to its customers.

In its 20-year history, low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific has expanded from servicing one route in 1996 to now flying over 107 routes to 63 domestic and international destinations out of six hubs in the Philippines.

With a subsidiary in Qingdao, China, a service center and a new APAC hub in Hong Kong, RECARO Aircraft Seating has geared up to meet the growing demand of the Asia-Pacific market.
