Mingaladon, Myanmar – October 28, 2020 – CDB Aviation, a wholly owned Irish subsidiary of China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co., Limited (“CDB Leasing”), announced the delivery of the first of three Embraer E190 aircraft to Myanmar Airways International (“MAI”).
This first aircraft of the type to join MAI’s fleet was ceremonially greeted upon arrival on October 26 at the carrier’s main base at Yangon International Airport.
The celebrated the occasion on Facebook by sharing: “Our first Embraer E190 aircraft arrived in Yangon International Airport (RGN) at 1035 local time and was given a warm welcome with water cannon salute. The event was attended by MAI Management team and members of the media.”
Sign Kadouh, CDB Aviation Head of Asia Pacific, expressed that “our team are proud and honored to deliver this first Embraer E190 aircraft to our new lessee, MAI. This delivery is a testimony to the resilience of our aviation industry and the strength of both our own and MAI’s teams as we navigate the market challenges during these extraordinary times for our global transport sector.”
The carrier added: “With this addition, the fleet size now stands at five aircraft, comprising of three A319s, one A320 and one E190. The airlines will continue its focus on network expansion and launch more exciting routes in line with its strategic plan to promote Myanmar as a regional destination.”
