Brian E. Liu Joins Debevoise’s Highly Ranked Aviation Practice Group
Debevoise & Plimpton LLP today announced that Brian E. Liu, a leading aviation finance lawyer, has joined the firm’s New York office as a partner and member of the Aviation Practice Group. Mr. Liu’s practice will focus on all aspects of aviation and equipment finance.
Mr. Liu has a broad range of experience in the equipment finance space, where his prior practice included the representation of airlines, leasing companies and financial institutions. Having counseled clients in each aspect of the aviation finance industry, he has gained rare insight into this quickly evolving finance market.

Having devoted the great majority of his legal career to representing both lenders and borrowers in the equipment and aviation finance space, Mr. Liu has advised on enhanced equipment trust certificate and secured notes issuances, securitizations, syndicated credit facilities, second lien facilities, warehouse facilities, sale/leasebacks and restructurings.

Mr. Liu most recently served as a partner at an international law firm, focusing on equipment finance matters. He was named a “Rising Star” by Airfinance Journal in 2014.
Mr. Liu earned his J.D. in 2006 from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and received his B.A. from Northwestern University in 2003.
