Braathens Regional Airlines expands its fleet
Braathens Regional Airlines has signed long term operating leases with Nordic Aviation Capital covering two ATR 72-600s. The airline is currently shortlisting candidates for five A319s to be delivered in the first half of 2023.
One ATR72-600 is delivered from the manufacturer in Toulouse this week. The second aircraft is a 2019 model to be delivered in October. The two ATRs will expand the airlines domestic fleet in Sweden to 14 aircraft.
Braathens issued an RFP for five A319s in early July. The RFP has been met with significant interest from the lessor community, and the airline plans to have all leases in place by early October. The aircraft will predominantly be flying charters under a contract signed in June between Braathens and the leading Scandinavian tour operator Nordic Leisure Travel Group.
With a business model focusing on growth where we are able to fully capitalise on synergies” says Fredrik Matseng, COO at Braathens Regional Airlines
