Bombardier Plans To Deliver 35 Aircraft In 2017

Having delivered the first CS300 jet to airBaltic, jet maker Bombardier has also reaffirmed its delivery guidance for the CSeries in 2017.

Bombardier focus on eliminating delays

Earlier Bombardier had been forced to cut its delivery guidance for 2016 as Pratt and Whitney had been coping with delays in the production process of the PW1500 geared turbofans. The PW1500G powerplants are the exclusive powerplants for the CSeries aircraft, which means that production delays directly affect the output of aircraft.

For 2016 the jet maker has lower its delivery forecast from 15 to 7 of which 4 already have been delivered. In 2017 the jet maker will be spending most of its time to get back on track and has set a delivery target of 30–35 aircraft for the CSeries.

Ramping up production is required to cut costs, but also to overcome cost overruns and delays on the program.
