Belair plans to resume operations in mid summer 2018, according to CEO Michael Hoevel, launching initially with three A320s once it secures its operating license and AOC in late May 2018.
The carrier plans to wet lease its aircraft to Thomas Cook Group Airlines and Condor, as its first customers. Although launching in the German market initially, Belair plans to launch Swiss operations in the fall of 2018, in line with the addition of a fourth A320 which will operate under its own flight numbers.
Belair was taken over by the German investment company SBC in January 2018, following the demise of Air Berlin. The relaunch is in collaboration with INAVIA Aviation Consultants, whose Managing Director Michael Hoevel is now head of the airline.
