Kuala Lumpur – February 13, 2024 – Batik Air reappoints Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy as Chief Executive Officer with effect from 01 February 2024. Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy has returned to the role of Chief Executive Officer for Batik Air Malaysia, taking the reins from Captain Mushafiz Mustafa Bakri.

Datuk Chandran was the first Chief Executive Officer of Batik Air, (formerly known as Malindo Air), since its inception in 2013 to August 2019. He then promoted to the position of Group Strategy Director at Lion Air Group. Under Datuk Chandran’s leadership, Batik Air has made rapid progress on the execution of its strategy, while reporting a strong network expansion and improved service performance. This has created a solid foundation for long-term expansion of Batik Air and sustainable value creation for industry partners, customers and stakeholders.

Captain Mushafiz Mustafa Bakri has been promoted as the Safety Director at Lion Air Group. Batik Air would like to thank Capt Mushafiz for his esteemed leadership during his tenure of 4.5 years.
