São Paulo, May 6, 2019 - Azul S.A., the largest airline in Brazil by number of flights and destinations served, announces today that it has been included in the Ibovespa index.
"We are very pleased to be part of a select group of companies that make up the Ibovespa. Since our IPO in April of 2017, we have seen a significant increase in the liquidity and price of our stock. Our average daily trading volume was approximately US$38.0 million over the past three months, consisting of US$21.0 million preferred shares traded in Brazil, and US$17.0 million American Depositary Shares traded in the U.S.", said Alex Malfitani, CFO of Azul.
The Ibovespa is the main performance indicator of the Brazilian stock market and is composed of companies that represent on average 80% of the average daily traded volume over a period of twelve months. The index currently includes 63 companies and Azul is the 37th company on the list.
