Azorra is today announcing the purchase of one Embraer E195 from Aurigny, the regional carrier for Guernsey, The Channel Islands.

The aircraft has been operated by Aurigny since 2014 and deployed on routes to the UK and Europe. Azorra is acquiring the aircraft from Aurigny to support the airline’s fleet transformation process.

Nico Bezuidenhout, CEO of Aurigny, says: “The Embraer E195 is a very good aircraft that has served Islanders and visitors well over the last decade.  Fleet simplification is, however, a key ingredient to improving the sustainability and resilience of Guernsey’s air connectivity, and as such, the decision to exit the Embraer from Aurigny’s fleet.”

Michael Davis, Chief Marketing Officer of Azorra, says: “The E195 continues to be in high demand and this opportunity to assist Aurigny is complementary to supporting the capacity needs of our existing Embraer customer base.”

Aurigny operates five turboprop ATR and Dornier aircraft.
