Azorra announces the delivery of the first Embraer E195-E2 from its firm orderbook to Azul, the largest airline in Brazil.

The delivery was marked by a special handover at Embraer’s São José dos Campos facility, hosted by senior representatives from Azorra, Azul and Embraer.

Azorra is proud to be supporting Azul to advance its fleet transformation plan, after the airline announced it would be retiring its fleet of E195-E1 aircraft in 2022 to move forward with deliveries of second-generation E195-E2s.

Ron Baur, President of Azorra, says: “Azul and Azorra have a longstanding partnership and we are proud to deepen this relationship. This E195-E2 marks the first of three modern crossover jets we are set to deliver to Azul. We are especially pleased to be delivering the first of our 35 firm aircraft on order with Embraer to such a great airline.”

Raphael Linares, Fleet and Aircraft Programs Director of Azul, says: “Leasing crossover jets from Azorra’s expert team is enabling us to drive down unit costs and transform our operation with one of the most fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly aircraft.”

Marcelo Santiago, VP Contracts and Asset Management, Embraer Commercial Aviation, says: “The E2 will deliver considerable and growing value to Azul as the airline replaces its existing fleet of E1s. The cutting-edge engine technology makes the E2 the most efficient aircraft in the single aisle segment, with the lowest noise and fuel burn, enabling Azul to reduce trip cost while balancing its growth and sustainability goals.”
