Azorra Aviation Holdings, LLC (“Azorra”) is pleased to announce that it has closed the sale and leaseback of five new E195-E2 aircraft with Porter Airlines.

These 5 aircraft are Porter’s first E2 deliveries and part of a 50 aircraft firm orderbook between the airline and Embraer. Earlier in December, Embraer successfully received type certification from the Transport Canada Civil Aviation Authority for the E2.  With this certification Porter becomes North America’s launch customer for the type.

John Evans, CEO of Azorra highlights, “We are thrilled to close out a remarkable year with the beginning of this great new partnership. Azorra is proud to be Porter’s first E2 lessor and to support its transformative business plan as the airline expands its well-established Toronto based franchise, providing business and leisure travelers with new choices across a longer-range network throughout North America. Porter is already an exciting Canadian brand that we expect will become the standard for air travel wherever it flies.”

“We are also proud to further reinforce Azorra’s strong relationship with Embraer as we continue to engage in fleet transitions, SLB financing and placement of Azorra’s order-book. The E2 has achieved firm footing during 2022 with a host of new customers and is rapidly gaining market share with an expanding global operator base for the type.”

Arjan Meijer, President and CEO, Embraer Commercial Aviation, said, “Congratulations to Azorra who continue to make a major impact on the leasing sector and have rapidly become an important partner for Embraer in several key deals. The economics, sustainability credentials, and passenger comfort of the E195-E2 is a strong asset for Azorra’s growing portfolio. The E195-E2 is the most sustainable single-aisle aircraft, at 65% quieter and up to 25% cleaner than previous-generation aircraft. It has the lowest fuel consumption per seat and per trip of 120 to 150 seat aircraft, and is the quietest single-aisle jet flying today.”
