algary, Alberta (November 4, 2022) — Avmax has delivered two aircraft to a new customer in the sub-Saharan country of Angola. Delivered in late October, these two aircraft, an Embraer 145, MSN 145510, and a DHC-8-300, MSN 256, were delivered to Fly Angola. These aircraft will be added to a strategically planned mixed fleet capable of efficiently operating all domestic routes within Angola.

When asked about the aircraft deliveries to Fly Angola, the Avmax leadership expressed their excitement about the new partnership. Steve Hankirk, Avmax CEO, said, “I am happy to add Fly Angola to our African customer base and I look forward to growing and expanding upon our new relationship. Fly Angola is a promising new airline that is well-suited to meet the growing passenger demand in Angola.

Avmax has years of experience working with African airlines, developing their fleets based on the type of routes they fly, passenger demand, and the type of airfields they will be operating in and out of. Avmax specializes in regional aircraft like the DHC-8 and CRJ/EMB145 type aircraft that are perfectly suited for handling most domestic routes in Africa.

I believe that Avmax’s regional aircraft and experience working in sub-Sahara Africa will partner well with Fly Angola’s ambition and strategic growth plan, which will ensure that both parties will continue to prosper and grow well into the future.”

And Scott Greig, Avmax Senior Vice President and Head of Avmax Aircraft Leasing Inc. (AALI), was quoted saying, “with traffic in sub-Saharan Africa continuing to grow, in certain cases beyond pre-pandemic levels, the Angolan market is representative of this passenger demand increase, which justifies the additional capacity being deployed by Fly Angola.

Fly Angola has demonstrated its commitment to providing a highly reliable scheduled service and this is underpinned by a solid business plan which includes introducing fuel-efficient regional aircraft like the Embraer 145 and Dash 8-300.

This transaction demonstrates Avmax's full-service capabilities and support infrastructure. In addition to leasing aircraft through Avmax, Fly Angola is also the African launch customer for Avmax's new insurance product through its subsidiary ARTS (Aerospace Risk Transfer Solutions).

I am delighted to see Fly Angola added to the growing Avmax customer base and I am excited to see these aircraft take to the skies in the Fly Angola livery. I wish them all the best with their growth plans, and I look forward to developing our relationship further.”

Fly Angola’s CEO, Belarnicio Muangala, also expressed his excitement by saying, “Avmax has walked the extra mile when it comes to tailored aviation solutions. We have come across a company willing to understand our needs and constraints. We see a strategic partnership taking shape and one that will boost our growth plans.”
