Hong Kong – 9 January 2019, Aircraft Recycling International Limited (“ARI”, a CALC Group member), Asia’s first integrated solutions provider for mid-to-end-of-life aftermarket aircraft, has announced the appointment of two seasoned industry practitioners to its senior team, as it continues to expand its service offerings which further strengthen CALC Group’s aircraft full life-cycle and aircraft value chain. Thomas Peng as Senior Vice President, PRC Sales & Marketing, Used Aircraft, and Richard Spaulding joins as Regional Head of Portfolio Management, Used Aircraft.
Prior to joining the company, Thomas Peng worked in Air China and AMECO, where he has set up and managed the company’s first professional aviation asset technical management department, and has completed return projects for more than 100 aircraft including 737-300, 757, 767 and A340 fleet. Thomas developed the used aircrafts import technical specification for CAAC.
At ARI, Thomas is responsible for the planning and development of sales and marketing strategies of used aircraft, and managing the Group’s relationship with aviation partners in China. With more than 20-year experience in aircraft engineering, of which 15 years in aircraft sales and leasing, Thomas brings the Group with his expertise in managing diversified cross functional areas including aircraft leasing, sales & asset value management, as well as technical & professional support, such as engineering evaluation, asset evaluation, asset disposal, lease planning, contract negotiations, cost control, and delivery management.
Richard Spaulding joins the company from Spaulding Aviation Services where he was a Principal provided professional advisory services to commercial aviation equity investors and commercial banks in the aviation asset acquisition and sales arena. He was previously a Senior Managing Director at GMT Global Republic Aviation.
At ARI, Richard is responsible for the development and management of the Group's used aircraft sales, acquisitions and sale leaseback opportunities as well as aircraft portfolio trading and management. With more than three decades of experience and proven track record of over 300 aircraft and aircraft engine transactions in global aviation industry, Richard’s extensive experience including managing multimillion-dollar portfolios, originating successful commercial aviation transactions and directing high yielding acquisition and sales campaigns, enrich the Group’s service offerings.
