Arena’s managed portfolio has reached a milestone of 60 aircraft with a market value now in excess of US$ 2.5 billion

On January 14, 2020 Arena Aviation Capital announced that in 2019 it originated, structured and successfully executed the acquisition of 18 aircraft with a total market value of approximately US$ 1.2 billion for its investor client base.

Acquisitions included six sale and leasebacks with two new airline clients, All Nippon Airways and Royal Air Maroc and 12 aircraft acquired from various lessors (with lessees including Air Canada, Transavia and China Airlines). Arena expanded its lessee customer base to 24 airlines in 22 countries.

On the sales side, Arena disposed of one B737-800, four A330 aircraft and multiple engines, and arranged a forward sale of six A320 aircraft.

On the remarketing side, Arena successfully repossessed and marketed two B737-800 aircraft in India, remarketed one B737-800 aircraft to Georgian Airways, and signed several extensions of existing leases.

In 2019 Arena has broadened its investor base with two new investors. Arena always aims to ensure that the investment strategies of its investor clients are complementary rather than overlapping.

“2019 was another record year for Arena as we continued our growth journey and business expansion. We successfully demonstrated to our diverse investor base the ability to access attractive investment opportunities, and deliver target returns for differentiated risk- return profiles. Together with our additional new shareholder, KEB Hana Bank, and our growing team of skilled professionals we are looking forward to a successful 2020” said Patrick den Elzen, Chief Executive Officer of Arena Aviation Capital.”
