TOKYO, Feb. 10, 2022 – ANA HOLDINGS INC. (hereinafter “ANA HD”) today announces changes to its board. Koji Shibata, Senior Executive Vice President and Member of the Board, will succeed Shinya Katanozaka as President and CEO from April 1, 2022 while Mr. Katanozaka will take over from Shinichiro Ito as Chairman of ANA HD on the same date.

Mr. Shibata joined ANA in 1982 after graduating from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies with a degree in Foreign Studies. In his 40 years with the ANA Group, Mr. Shibata has held a wide range of senior positions and has played a critical role especially in the growth of ANA’s international business, holding positions such as VP of Alliances and International Affairs and Senior VP of EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa), based in London. Currently as Senior Executive VP of ANA HD, he has led the way in orchestrating the transformation of the ANA Group corporate strategy. He is aged 64.

Mr. Katanozaka was appointed President and CEO of ANA HD in April 2015. Under his leadership, ANA HD recorded an operating profit and returned to black for the first time in eight quarters in the 3rd quarter (October – December) of fiscal year 2021 despite the continued challenges brought upon by COVID-19.

Mr. Ito, who became Chairman of ANA HD in April 2015 after previously serving as President and CEO of All Nippon Airways from April 2009 to March 2013 and as President and CEO of AND HD from April 2013, will continue to act as Senior Advisor to ANA HD.
