American Airlines to drop two regional carriers
American Airlines Group will drop two regional affiliates, ExpressJet and Trans States, when their contracts expire in 2019. The move will help the mainline carrier and its regional brand, American Eagle simplify its short-haul operations.
The Group, which had 10 regional partners earlier in 2018, will drop the number to seven with the announced changes.
The ExpressJet services will transition to its parent, SkyWest, while the Trans States routes will transition to Envoy Airlines.
