American Airlines today announced that Molly Wilkinson has been named vice president, Regulatory Affairs. She will report to Nathan Gatten, American’s senior vice president, Government Affairs.

“We are delighted to have someone with Molly’s experience and track record join the American team and look forward to benefiting from the passion and dedication she brings with her to this role,” said Gatten.

In this role, Wilkinson will oversee American’s regulatory affairs practice and will be based in the airline’s Washington office.

Wilkinson was most recently the executive director of the Electronic Payments Coalition. Prior, she was the executive director of the Card Policy Council of the American Bankers Association and senior vice president for Regulatory Policy at Regions Financial Corporation. Before her work in the private sector, she had a distinguished record of service in a variety of senior agency roles and on Capitol Hill, where she served as Republican General Counsel for the U.S. Senate Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee. She is a graduate of the College of Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, and a graduate of Albany Law School in Albany, New York.
