American Airlines (AA) plans increase its flights to Cancun International Airport and advance its partnership with Interjet to better position itself in Mexico.
José María Giraldo, the CEO of AA in Mexico, said the carrier plans to grow the number of flights out of Cancun and also provide better connectivity options, as the hub should mirror those in US cities, like Dallas and Philadelphia.
American also plans to strengthen its operations in Los Cabos, as well as the beginning of the flights to Oaxaca from 19 December 2018. As a result the AA network in Mexico will reach 22 destinations by the end of 2018.
From 06 June 2019, AA will start the Durango-Dallas route.
In addition to the network changes, American Airlines also will seek to continue to build its alliance with Interjet by expanding its codeshare agreement.
