Miami, October 10, 2017 – The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) announced today that Latin America and Caribbean airlines carried 21.5 million passengers in August, up 5.6% - or 1,139,000 more passengers - from the previous year. Traffic (RPK) grew 8.1% and capacity (ASK) increased 7.1%, bringing up the load factor to 82.8%, 0.8 percentage points higher than in August 2016. (see table 1). .
