Alitalia has signed a codeshare agreement with Royal Air Maroc in order to offer more choice and enhanced network connectivity between Italy and Maroc.

Already on sale, the codeshare agreement is bound to boost travel and tourism between the two countries, giving tourists and businessmen more travel options and better flight schedules. Alitalia already operates a daily service between Rome and Casablanca with its own aircraft and, thanks to this new commercial agreement with Royal Air Maroc, the Italian airline will be able to widen its North Africa network.

Alitalia has placed its “AZ” flight code on Royal Air Maroc operated flights between Casablanca and Rome, Milan Malpensa, Bologna, Turin, Venice and Naples. Furthermore, Alitalia has placed its ‘AZ’ code also on many services operated by the Maroquin carrier beyond Casablanca to 11 domestic destinations: Agadir, Beni Mellal, Errachidia, Fez, Dakhla, Hassan/Laayoune, Nador, Oujda, Ouarzazate, Marrakech and Tangier.

Similarly, Royal Air Maroc has expanded its offer to Italy by placing its “AT” flight code on Alitalia’s daily Casablanca-Rome service and on the Italian airline’s connections from Rome to the following 15 domestic destinations: Brindisi, Bologna, Bari, Catania, Florence, Genova, Naples, Palermo, Pisa, Reggio Calabria, Lamezia Terme, Turin, Trieste, Venice and Verona.

The new codeshare flights are available for sale through the airlines’ websites alitalia.com and royalairmaroc.com, as well as in travel agencies.
