Alitalia’s revenues increase continues the growth trend in the first five months of 2019. During this period, the Italian airline reported 1.8 per cent increase in passenger revenues, compared to the same five months of 2018. Total revenues also increased in this period by 2.6 per cent, compared to the same period of the previous year.

In May 2019, Alitalia’s revenues recorded a slight decrease, compared to the same month of the previous year, mainly due to the impact of the air transport strike in Italy which happened on 21 May. The negative impact was mitigated thanks to the performance of intercontinental flights which recorded 6.4 per cent revenues increase (revenues over 100 million euros) and 3.7 per cent growth in the number of passengers carried. In the first five months of 2019 the intercontinental services saw revenues increased by 5.4 per cent and number of carried passengers up by 3.3 per cent.

As of 31 May 2019, the Airline's liquidity amounted to 467 million euros (plus deposits), compared to 470 million euros at the end of April and 506 million euros available at the beginning of 2019.
