From 27 March 2018, Alitalia to directly manage its commercial sales, distribution, revenue management and operational oversight for the carriage of goods on all of its network flights, which had previously delegated to Etihad Global Cargo Management Company, due the termination of the commercial agreement with UAE company.
In a statement, the Italian airline said: "The aim is to relaunch the Alitalia Cargo brand". Alitalia Cargo has its own fleet of freighter aircraft, but uses the hold of passenger aircraft operating on international and domestic routes. The company can also arrange charter flights on request. Its cargo hub is based at Rome Fiumicino.
