Italian law enforcement raided the headquarters of Alitalia as part of an open case investigating premeditated bankruptcy. Documents and computers were seized by authorities.
The investigation will determine the parties responsible for Alitalia's deficit of US$471 million, as well as the management involved in the decisions which ultimately led to a bankruptcy case being filed in the Court of Civitavecchia.
The decisions of the airline were made after Etihad acquired a 49.9% stake in Alitalia in 2014.
