AJW Group, world leaders in the global management of aircraft spares, has announced the extension of additional Airbus A321 aircraft to its power-by-the-hour (PBH) contract with the Icelandic low-cost carrier WOW air.

AJW originally signed a PBH contract with WOW air in 2013 to provide support for the airline’s Airbus A320 aircraft. Following the success of the initial agreement, this was subsequently expanded in 2015 to include Airbus A321 aircraft as well. This latest expansion means that AJW now supports all of WOW air’s current generation Airbus A320 family aircraft.

Christopher Whiteside, President and CEO of AJW Group, said: “Since 2013, WOW air has continued to expand and we would like to congratulate them on this growth. The latest extension of our contract with them underlines the strength of our partnership and the value they place in our power-by-the-hour service.

“We are fully committed to partnering with WOW air as they continue to expand in the years ahead, and are confident that our partnership will continue to offer them value and excellent service in the highly competitive low-cost carrier market.”

WOW air is based in Iceland and is the country's only low-cost carrier. It flies to several European cities and commenced flights to North America in 2015. It is estimated that WOW air's passenger capacity will grow to over three million a year in 2017.
