Washington, D.C. -- AUGUST 10, 2021 -- U.S. aviation broker Air Exchange has taken legal action against Italian start up airline Ego Airways for breach of contract. The claim, brought in Milan, Italy, is for damages in excess of US$250,000 resulting from Ego Airways‘ completion of an aircraft lease in total disregard of the exclusivity provisions of the mandate it signed with Air Exchange in September 2020.
The suit was filed 15 July 2021 before Tribunale di Milano - Sezione Civile (Court of Milan - Civil Section) Case No. 30717/2021.
Despite being committed contractually to Air Exchange as its sole lease arranger until September 2021, Ego Airways leased a CRJ900 late in 2020 and reportedly is planning to lease several additional aircraft -- all in violation of the terms of exclusivity of its agreement with Air Exchange.
