Dresden, Germany, 20th October 2020. Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH (EFW) has been selected by Airbus as a Digital Design, Manufacturing and Services (DDMS) programme early adopter. In doing so EFW will actively engage, alongside Airbus in shaping the future of the aerospace industry.
DDMS provides an innovative set of processes, methods and tools to ensure effective collaboration, digital continuity and value creation along the width and breadth of the entire aircraft lifecycle. It holds the promise of faster and cost-effective design and production, better services and improved customer satisfaction.

EFW was selected by Airbus as an early adopter to work on innovations in the cabin domain. For over 25 years, EFW has been a reliable expert in lightweight components for the aircraft interior: from floor panels, to side panels, partition walls, bulletproof cockpit doors up to entire modules. In 2019, EFW was honoured with the Airbus SQIP Supplier Award” as “Best Performer” as well as with the Airbus Performance & Quality Award for outstanding product quality and supplier reliability. With extensive experience in digital development, the company can design the cabin of future aircraft, as well as digital factory processes. EFW has planned and built in record time a new production facility including digital production capabilities for Lightweight components in its latest modern plant in Saxony.
