Airbus’ best-selling A320 Family logged 24 orders in October, while 63 jetliners from the A320 single-aisle A330, A350 XWB and A380 widebody product lines were delivered to customers during the same period.

October’s new business was led by AirAsia’s booking for 14 A320ceo versions. Seven A320neo aircraft were ordered by an undisclosed customer, along with two A320ceo jetliners for Mexican low-cost carrier Viva Aerobus, and one ACJ320ceo Airbus Corporate Jet for an undisclosed customer.

With these latest contracts, combined orders for the single-aisle A320 Family surpassed the 13,300 mark – with a total of 13,308 for 95 customers as of 31 October.

Taking the month’s bookings and cancellations into account, Airbus’ overall net orders for the first 10 months of 2017 totalled 288 jetliners.

Single-aisle jetliner deliveries in October involved 49 A320 Family aircraft – including 22 of the A320neo and A321neo versions. For widebodies, Airbus delivered five A330s in the A330-200 and A330-300 configurations, along with eight A350-900s and one A380.

During the month, Air Mauritius became a new A350 XWB operator.

As of end-October, Airbus’ overall backlog of jetliners remaining to be delivered stood at 6,645 aircraft – representing the equivalent of approximately nine years of production at current rates.
